Titans, mortals, realms, and relics of the Foundation Age, the world beneath every story told here.
Book I · The Foundation Age
When the War of the World Titans finally ended, reality itself was left bruised, fractured, and trembling on the edge of collapse. From that ruin rose the first great act of preservation.
Hyperion, greatest among the World Titans and Lord of Light, shaped the Golden Heaven Realms of Avalonus. These radiant domains stood above the mortal world as a final bulwark against extinction-level threats. From Avalonus, the Elder Gods would watch, guard, and intervene only when existence itself was at stake. To serve them, Hyperion created the Angels, beings of vigilance and law, forged not to rule, but to endure.
At the same time, the Fae Gods, led by Morrigan of Magic, Selene of the Moon, and Nyx of Night, opened the Eternal Fae Realm. This realm was not merely a refuge, but a living circuit of magic and memory, sustained by the Primordial Titans of Dreams, Magic, Life, Hope, and Memory. It became the connective tissue between magical worlds, a place where Fae souls would return upon death, rest, be mended, and eventually re-enter the living realms.
Between Avalonus and the Eternal Fae Realm lay a neutral pocket domain known as the Throned Acropolis. Here stood nine titanic thrones encircling an audience platform, occupied by the victorious World Titans: Hyperion (Light), Nyx (Night), Oceanus (Seas), Ra (Skies), Glorion (Earth & Forge), Thanatos (Death & the Ghost Realm), Morrigan (Magic), Selene (Moon), and Freyva (Life & Nature). From this seat of balance, the fate of the world would be judged, but rarely shaped directly again.
Not all Titans were spared.
The defeated World Titans and their followers were imprisoned within the Abyssal Hells, a realm designed not for chaos, but for punishment, containment, and correction. Rule of this domain was entrusted to Lucifial, Lord of Punishment, a World Titan who had betrayed his kin at the final turning of the Titan War.
His loyalty came too late to earn trust.
Hyperion bound Lucifial to the eternal task of ruling the Abyss, believing responsibility would restrain him where mercy could not. Over eons, the cruelty of the realm and the weight of his duty eroded Lucifial's body and mind, warping him into something barely recognizable. Though he fulfilled his charge, boredom, resentment, and ambition festered within him.
In his isolation, Lucifial took Lilith, Mother of Malice, as consort, and from their union were born the Devils, subtle manipulators and wardens, and the Demons, creatures of chaos and war.
Imprisoned alongside Lilith were other fallen Titans: Cerci the Broken Moon, Mara the Lord of Suffering, Hecatre of Decay and Rebirth, Pale the Queen of Ambition, and Seth the Eternal Dragon, along with their corrupted divine offspring.
As Lucifial's excesses grew, Hyperion appointed two additional Titans to share governance of the Abyss: Hades, Lord of the Underworld, and Persephony, Lady of Redemption, whose presence ensured that punishment could still give way to transformation.
With the cosmic order stabilized, the world itself was prepared for life.
The Elder Gods and Fae Gods descended, shaping land, sea, and sky, though true creation remained the domain of Titans alone. Ra, Father of Skies, forged the first Dragon and Phoenix Gods: Osiris, Tiamatra, Bahamut, Ryujin, and Delphyne. From them came the first Dragons and Phoenixes, and with them, aerial life.
Freyva and Glorion shaped the land's great beasts: Behemoths, Beast Kings, Ancient and Mythical Beasts, forming a living balance meant to cull corruption and sustain the world. The Fae Gods, empowered by the Eternal Fae Realm, created the first Fae Mortals, beginning with the Elu, the Prime Elves. From the Fae Realms followed Tylons, Sprites, Nymphs, and Fairies, who reinforced the natural order.
Yet in secret, Lucifial and Hecatre released serpents and insects into the mortal world, small, subtle vessels of Abyssal intent.
The world noticed.
As Abyssal influence spread quietly, the planet itself reacted. Drawing upon the Eternal Fae Realm and its own deep will, the world awakened the Prime Gods, beings nearly as powerful as Ra's divine children, yet bound strictly to the world's scale.
They were not rulers, nor conquerors, but guardians. Their origin remains debated: some believe them to be failsafes of the Sustainer Titans, others seeds planted by the Primordials themselves. What is certain is that they awoke with a singular purpose, to preserve, heal, and defend the world.
Lucifial's boredom became catastrophe.
Within the Abyss, he unlocked Lilith's domain and allowed Tartaras to enter, keeping Hades and Persephony distracted. From a forced and profane union were born Typhon and Akidna, Titans unbound by the ancient chains that restrained their parents.
They tore through the Underworld and burst into the mortal realm, corrupting races and birthing monsters: Goblins, Ogres, Trollkin, Sirens, Harpies, and twisted beasts and dragons. The Prime Gods and mortal races resisted, but many fell or were corrupted.
When Hades alerted the Throned Acropolis, the World Titans broke their own law and walked the mortal world once more. Typhon was slain by Hyperion, Hades, and Ra, his corpse sealed as a volcanic prison. Akidna, manipulated and diminished, was spared but drained of most of her power by Morrigan and imprisoned beneath the northern seas by Triton and Neptune.
This calamity became known as the Cataclysm of the Father of Monsters. The Titans, now weakened by their intervention, withdrew, unable to heal the scars they had stopped.
Before departing, Hyperion created Adamas and Evalon, the first Humans. He granted them immortality and immense potential, and Freyva gifted them the power to create life. Humanity was sheltered within the Fae Garden Sanctuary, protected from monsters and taught by the Fae.
Yet the crack left by Typhon had not fully healed.
Lucifial forged an Avatar and slipped through, unable to enter Fae lands without consent. He corrupted Soul Elves, guardians of ancestral spirits, teaching forbidden arts of necromancy and soul manipulation. These became the first Hsal-Eraklah, who granted Lucifial access to the sanctuary.
Through deception, Lucifial introduced envy, pride, and violence into humanity, manipulating Cainan, son of Adamas and Evalon, to murder his brother Abel.
Horrified, the Fae exiled humanity. In fear, Evalon accepted Lucifial's bargain: immortality was stripped away in exchange for access to darker magic. Adamas, steadfast, rejected corruption and challenged Lucifial's Avatar in a Binding Duel, an ancient law that even Titans were compelled to witness.
Against overwhelming magic, Adamas endured. At the brink of death, he prayed to Hyperion, and a blade of light manifested from his soul. With it, he struck down the Avatar, sealing Lucifial's influence and ending the duel.
Though victorious, the damage was done. Darkness now lived within mortal hearts.
Hyperion enacted the Law of Divine Distance, forbidding all celestial beings from direct intervention in mortal affairs under penalty of mortality. The Elder Gods were permitted only to send Avatars as guides, who in time would interbreed with mortals, creating the Godsblood. Human kingdoms rose. Elven realms flourished under kings such as Hansall, Tiamel, Serallion, and Sederous, while the Gods' Blood grew powerful, and tyrannical.
With the passing of Adamas and Evalon, the world stood divided, wounded, and ripe for defiance.
Thus ended the Foundation Age. And thus began the Age of Mortal Rebellion.
